Madeline Lykins, 88, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Rowan County, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1925, in West Virginia, the daughter of Dan and Nancy (Stidham) McGill and lived most of her life in the Morehead area. Mrs. Lykins moved to Springfield in 1955 and was a member of the Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Chuck Ackerman of Springfield, Ohio, and Betty and Jim Yoakem of West Jefferson, Ohio; one sister, Gladys Lykins of Morehead; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Lykins, and one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Chet Wolford. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with David Manning officiating. Visitation is after 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Madeline's name to the Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1821 Troy Road, Springfield, OH 45504.
