Obituary

Lydia Scott Montgomery, age 81, of Morehead, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 29, 1944, in Eskdale, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Claude Scott and Lizzie Alice Ingle Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Alan Scott; and three sisters, Dorothy McClurg, Patricia Amburgey, and Betty Riddle.

Lydia is survived by her four children, Angie Adkins, Alberta Crisp (Ronnie), Cecil Cornett (Shari), and Julia Miller (Rex), all of Morehead; six grandchildren, Ashley Withrow (Jeremy), Ryan Adkins (fiancée Kaitlynn), Kaylia Zancan, Andrew Miller (Lakyn), Tori Crisp (Robbie), Cecilia Miller (Jeremy); and nine great grandchildren, Raylee and Hadlee Withrow, Ayden, Austin Levi, Alice Makayla, and Wade Adkins, Alice Rose Miller, Kaiden Purnell, and Charlee Nova.

Other survivors include an uncle, Carl Ingle of Morehead; a brother-in-law, Tony Riddle; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family and friends. She also had some very special friends and neighbors – David and Sharon Kidd, Faye Thompson, and David and Abby Clifton.

Lydia worked for many years at The Eagles Nest and Pecco's Restaurant. She spent over 20 years working at Bath Manufacturing before retiring in 2009. After retiring, she devoted her time to caring for her mother and eventually several of her great-grandchildren, which was her greatest joy.

She enjoyed taking walks and riding the golf cart with Sharon. Lydia will be remembered as a very independent woman who always spoke her mind. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
