Obituary

Luther Edward Fannin, age 77, of Lytten, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1930, at The Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Lancelett and Lula Reynolds Fannin. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marmett Whitt Fannin, whom he married February 16, 1951; one son, Troy Dale Fannin and his wife Peggy of Elliottville, Kentucky; one brother, Denzil Fannin and his wife Hortense of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Curtis Fannin, Michele Walters, Rory Fannin, Sara Pennington Busick, and Rachael Fannin; and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Fannin was a former teacher in the Carter Creek School in Elliott County, an employee of the Taylor Engineering Company in Winchester for 20 years; a former employee of Hall Contracting Company in Louisville; and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a lifelong farmer and raised cattle. He was a member of Lytten Apostolic Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Lytten Apostolic Church with the Rev. Terry Davis, the Rev. Arnold Ison, and the Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Fannin Cemetery at Lytten. Pallbearers will be Curtis Fannin, Rory Fannin, Robbie Fannin, David Fannin, J. T. Fannin, Steve Walters, and Lee Busick. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2007, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, October 22, 2007, after 4 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. Interment: Fannin Cemetery, Lytten, KY
