Luther David (Bud) McClain, age 69, of Mynhier Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his residence. Born March 13, 1945, he was a son of the late Orville Luther and Alice Mae Fogleman McClain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Emogene McClain and Anna McClain Stamper, and one brother, Thomas McClain. Bud is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Carter McClain, whom he married April 14, 1968; six sons and daughters-in-law, David and Staci McClain, Tony and Kim McClain, Danny and Sandra McClain, Jeff and Sue Lyn McClain, Larry and Annie McClain, and Chuck and Tiffany McClain, all of Morehead; 11 grandchildren, Emily McClain, Derek McClain, Brianna McClain, Tiffany McClain, Austin McClain, Heather Henderson, Keshia McClain, Taylor McClain, David McClain, Zack McClain, and Dalton McClain; and three great grandchildren, Colby Watson, Jackson Stegall, and Bentlee Henderson. Other survivors include seven sisters, Lavena Scott and Faye Skeens, both of Clearfield, Louise Fraley and Vern, Wanda Carter and Harlan (PJoe), Katie May and Gardner, Esther McClain, and Emily (Nina) Thomas and William, all of Morehead; three brothers, Clarence (Crickett) McClain, Bobby McClain and Tina, and Paul McClain and Sue, all of Morehead; special friends and neighbors, James, Jessica, Megan, Zack and Jacob Wallace; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Known as a very good handyman, Bud was a man of many skills, including carpentry, electrical, and automotive. He could fix anything. Bud enjoyed gardening, mowing, fishing, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the East End Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill and Jeff Stamper, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Sons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, March 13, 2015, after 3 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 2 p.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
