Luella Ruth Switzer Honaker Roberts, age 84, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed from this world on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
She was born in Morehead, Kentucky, on April 23, 1938, and was a daughter of the late Osil Switzer and Laura Jewell Ingle Switzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Honaker; her second husband, Willie Roberts; her son, Chester Honaker. Three siblings also preceded her in death, two brothers, Roy Switzer and Burley "Bubby" Switzer, and a sister, Ann Lytle.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Debra (Junior) Stevens of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Annita (Michael) Wilson of Heath, Ohio; a stepson, Lannie Roberts of Lancaster, Ohio; five grandchildren, Dustin (Peter) Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Sarah (Dana) Mocabee, Ashley (Todd) Toth, and Mason Buck; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Eulene Keeton of Hamler, Ohio.
She retired from the Perry Community School as a teacher's assistant and was foster mother for many years. She worked hard all of her life and enjoyed working on her home in New Lexington, Ohio, and on the farm and in the garden. Ruth was a dedicated friend to many and helped people whose circumstances were less than hers. She had a significant talent and a loved for cooking and baking. She always enjoyed making someone's favorite meal or treat and seeing how happy it made them.
Ruth was of the Christian faith, and generous, giving, and truly a blessing to those who knew and loved her. She was a beloved mother and "granny," and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stevens, Dana Mocabee, Dustin Stevens, Peter Williams, Ashley Toth, and Mason Buck.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
