Lucy Ellen Taylor Potter, age 89, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, after an extended illness. Lucy was born March 1, 1924, in Charleston, Arkansas, and was a daughter of the late Mary Bagwell Taylor and Jess Taylor. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lunda Potter; an infant daughter, Janet Potter; two brothers, Jesse Taylor and Roy Taylor; and step granddaughter, Harper Cox. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Cooper) Whitt of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Diane (John) Cox of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Laura Gentille of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Mary Jane (Leroy) Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two grandsons, John (Kim) Whitt of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Jesse (Sarah) Whitt of Louisville, Kentucky; one step granddaughter, Sarah Cox of Austin, Texas; five great grandchildren, South, Natalie, and Caroline Whitt, all of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Keeton and Carson Ann Whitt, both of Louisville, Kentucky. The family would like thank Cloma Meredith, special friend and caregiver, and Dr. Twana Hatton and Dr. Parker Banks for their loving care and guidance. Private services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Brother Clay Coburn officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Mausoleum.
