Obituary

Lowell Pennington Sr., age 85, of Pennington Flat, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at his residence. Born April 17, 1927, in Elliott County, Kentucky he was a son of the late Arthur and Elsie Harris Pennington. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Horton Pennington, whom he married November 12, 1946; 10 children, Gary and wife Jenetta Pennington of Morehead, Wendell and wife Marilyn Pennington of Louisville, Lowell Jr. and wife Judy Pennington of Morehead, Julia and husband Lee Roy McClurg of Morehead, Randy Pennington Sr. of Morehead, Dwane and wife Toni Pennington of Morehead, Dennis Pennington of Morehead, Linda and husband Baker Hollis of Morehead, Thomas Pennington of Morehead, Rusty and wife Sandi Pennington of Woodstock, Virginia; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 6 brothers and sisters, Medford Pennington, Edgar Pennington, Donald Pennington, and Denvil Pennington, all of Morehead, Fostella Winkle of Richmond, Indiana, and Vanzil Pennington of Grafton, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Lowell was a retired driver for Carty and Carty Trucking Co. of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery on Big Brushy Road. Pallbearers: Gary, Wendell, Lowell Jr., Randy, Dwane, Dennis, Thomas, and Rusty Pennington. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Sunday, January 6, 2013, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Monday, January 7, 2013, at 1 p.m. Interment: Pennnington Cemetery
