Lowell Elwood Mabry, age 92, of Hwy. 711, West Liberty, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born May 19, 1921, in Carter County, a son of the late Charlie and Polly Coffee Mabry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Mabry; two sisters, Ottie Walker and Ruth Gilliam; one half-brother, Marlin Manning; and one half-sister, Ruby Jones. His first wife Ottie Skaggs Mabry, whom he wed June 20, 1946, preceded him in death on December 13, 1994. Lowell was united in marriage to his second, Ethel Jewell Kidd Mabry, on January 26, 1996, who survives. He is also survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and June Mabry of Ashland, Lawrence A. and Pat Mabry of Olive Hill, and Victor E. and Judy Mabry of Greenbrier; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Devra Kidd of West Liberty, and Danny and Sharlet Kidd of Rowan County. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael Mabry, Michelle Mabry Gibson, Steven Mabry, Stephanie Mabry Thomas; two step grandchildren, Trish Waddell and Lynn Hollingsworth; nine great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. Mr. Mabry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a lifelong farmer and logger. He was a member and deacon at Oak Hill Church of God and prior to moving served as a deacon at the Porter Creek Church in Carter County. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Gary Madden and Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery #2 in Greenbrier with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Steven Mabry, Michael Mabry, Dwayne Thomas, Greg Gibson, Mike Mabry, and Gale Thornsberry. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, December 4, 2013, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. Interment: Manning Cemetery #2, Greenbrier
