Louise Jones Evans, age 75, of Green Briar Road, Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at home surrounded by her children. She was born May 10, 1939, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Lee and Ruby Manning Jones. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Allen Evans, on December 26, 1965; an infant daughter, Kathy Jean Evans; two brothers, Burnell Jones and James Jones; and three sisters, Velma Lee Jones, Maxine Tackett, and Ottie Abrams. Louise is survived by her three children, Regina (Ron) Smedley of Morehead, Douglas Allen Evans of Olive Hill, and Moneake (Todd) Lands of Morehead; six grandchildren, Shannon 'Bear' Oney, Leslie Strawer, Frank Allen Evans, Kara 'Tootie' Skaggs, Cheyenne Evans, and Tristan Lands; and seven great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother and four sisters, Marlin Jones, Betty Jean Stevens, Ruth Ann Baker, Norma Jewell Kiser, and Roberta Stone, all of Olive Hill, and several nieces and nephews. Louise was a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing and Holiday Inn. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, talking on the telephone, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Delmar Logan, Jr. and Brother Victor Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Cemetery in Olive Hill. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Conn, Darrell Fannin, David Smith, Randall Porter, Steven Mabry, and Brad Seagraves. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lands and Kevin Blevins. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
