Louis Magda
Iv
May 20, 1957 — Aug 25, 2025
Louis A. Magda IV, age 68, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at his residence.
Born May 20, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the only child of the late Dr. Louis Istvan Magda III and Maria Ilona Adel "Bobbie" Magda.
Louie is survived by cousins Marta Szabó, Katalin Szabó, and Lajos Szabó, all of Hungary, as well as many dear friends.
A 1975 graduate of University Breckenridge School, Louie was a proud member of the basketball team that won 27 games during his senior year. He later attended Morehead State University, where he majored in art and played on the soccer team. A gifted artist, his paintings and sculptures were admired by many.
Music was another passion—he built an extensive vinyl collection, played several instruments, and performed with a local Bluegrass band. Over the years, he shared his love of art and learning as the owner of an art store in Morehead Plaza, as a substitute teacher for the Rowan County Board of Education, and as a youth soccer referee.
In his younger years, Louie also worked as a lifeguard at Cave Run Lake Beach and as a night watchman at Cave Run Marina. Above all, he was a devoted son who lovingly cared for his mother after she suffered a severe stroke.
Louie will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Skip Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Perkins, Lee Allen, Thomas Albert, Jesse Wells, Daryl Thompson, and Cody Greene.
Honorary pallbearers include Crosley Caudill, Joe Reynolds, Tony Bentley, Tom Queen, Chuck Ward, Paul Fulbright, Jim Fraley, and Jim Morrison.
All arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
