Louie Emmett -Gene- Meade, age 74, of Old Sands Road, Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, at King-s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born December 31, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late James -Jim- and Hattie Greenhill Meade. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Meade; two brothers, Joe Walter Meade and Lloyd Meade, Jr.; and one sister, Marie Branham. Surviving are two sons, Henry Arthur Meade of Salt Lick, Kentucky, and James Ottist Meade of Owingsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Audrey Brown of Salt Lick, Kentucky; the mother of his children, Carolyn James Meade; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Norman Meade of Ashland, Kentucky; three sisters, Irene Bush of Grayson, Kentucky, Pauline Holbrook of Grahn, Kentucky, and Bethalene Minix of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mr. Meade was a former employee of Homer Gregory Lumber Company. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randall Jackson and Rev. David Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhill and Jarvis Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Anthony Lee Meade, David Eugene Meade, Derick McGlothin, Erick Meade, Henry Arthur Meade, and David Roar. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Tuesday, March 31, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Greenhill and Jarvis Cemetery, Carter County, KY
