Lou Ellen 'Judy' Carpenter Cuccia, age 77, of Kenner, Louisiana, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Born in Clearfield, Kentucky, on November 7, 1938, she was the daughter of James C. Carpenter and Roxy Dale White Johnson. Surviving Judy are her three children, Steven A. Lesher of Blanko, Texas, Bruce W. Lesher of Berwick, Pennsylvania, and Charlene F. Nothstein of Muncy, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Kermit M. Johnson Jr., of Bryson City, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Lukas J. Cuccia; her daughter, Joyce L. Shoop and grandson Steven David Lesher; her brothers, Melvin, Richard, Norman, Douglass and Gene Carpenter; and sisters, Debbie Carpenter and Brenda Murphy. Judy loved her family deeply and was dedicated to the profession of nursing for most of her adult life until she retired in order to care for her ailing husband. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals officiated by Rodney Profit. Interment will be in the Carpenter Cemetery, Mill Branch Road, Clearfield. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
