Lonnie Ishmeal Taylor, age 79, of Triplett Street, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Elliott County Nursing & Rehab Center in Sandy Hook.

Born November 22, 1944, in Hartley, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Calvin Taylor and Agnes Johnson Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Chad Taylor, and four brothers, Conley Taylor, Don Taylor, Ralph Taylor, and Bill Mullins.

He is survived by one son, Ralph (Carolyn) Taylor of Lehigh Acres, Florida; five grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Sebastian Taylor, Malley Taylor, Courtney (Tyler) Boyd, and Christin Taylor (Brett Reynolds); six great grandchildren; two sisters, Matilda Taylor Newsome and Fran Johnson of Virgie, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Lonnie was a former coal miner and electrician. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed being at home, gardening, and stained-glass painting. He will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.   He will be laid to rest at Ditney Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
