Obituary

Lola Richardson Robinson, 98, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Lola was born on September 2, 1916, in Menifee County to the late Silas and Minnie Richardson. She was a graduate of Morehead Teachers College and Indiana University Southeast. She was an elementary school teacher for 44 years in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. After retirement, Lola resided in Dade City, Florida, for many years and enjoyed time there with her sisters and family. In addition to her teaching career, Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Rosie the Riveter Association in recognition for her work on the B-24 Bombers in Ypsilanti, Michigan, during WW II. She also attended First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville. Above all, Mrs. Robinson was devoted to her family. She was a loving grandma to us all and we have fond memories of her, especially her love of all things in Florida and her Wendy's chicken nuggets and vanilla frosties! Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Robinson, and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Fred Robinson (Nancy) of Clarksville, IN; James Robinson (Rosemary) of Morehead; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; four nieces and three nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Phyllis Robinson and Loretta Martin for their help in the last few years of Grandma's life. Visitation is Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 2 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church with Roger Wells officiating.
