Lois Anne Carter Holley, 85, of Knapp Avenue, Morehead, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her home. Born December 3, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late W. H. 'Bill' and Lyda Susan Moore Carter. Lois Anne is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack F. Holley, whom she wed June 17, 1949, and their three children: Terry (Rick) of Cincinnati, Jack Jr. (Jodi) of Morehead and Skip (Rhonda) also of Morehead; two brothers, Jack Carter (widower of Becky) of Morehead and Roger Carter (Carol) of West Liberty; nine grandchildren: Jack Holley III, Misty Marmoleto (Chris), April Pruitt (Ken), Joe Gronotte, Holley Hughes (Brian), Matthew Holley, Adam Holley, Caitlin Holley, Randi Holley; and seven great grandchildren. Other survivors include extended family, dear friends, and special caregivers, Linda McKinney, Darlene Sexton, and Jennifer Wallace. Lois Anne was a proud alumna of Breckinridge Training School and a charter member of the Breckinridge Society. A talented musician, singer, and songwriter, she coined the words to the Breckinridge school song that was sung until the school's closing in 1982. Lois attended the University of Kentucky and Morehead State University and was a well-known community volunteer. She was renowned for her intelligence, wit, and kindness to all she met. Lois Ann was devoted to her beloved husband Jack, her children, grandchildren, brothers, and countless friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Molly Smothers officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery. Pallbearers: Matt Holley, Joe Carter, Troy Carter, John Carter, Skip Vencill, Lee Allen, Randy Eldridge, and Phil Phillips.
