Lloyd Lee Souders, age 82, of Lafayette Drive, Morehead, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born June 22, 1932, in Jamesport, Missouri, he was the only child of the late Helen Colleen Souders and Howard Hobbs. Lloyd is survived by three children, Twila Jean 'TJ' Combine of Louisville and Troy Lee Souders and Lloyd Alan Souders, both of Jamesport, Missouri, and five grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a truck driver for more than 36 years, and was also a skilled mechanic. He was a longtime employee of Melvin Stevens. Lloyd was a friendly, outgoing person who never met a stranger and would go to great lengths to help those he cared about. He loved to laugh and cut up with everyone, and his friends knew he could be counted on when needed. He loved to 'tinker' with anything that had a motor, and he could 'fix' anything. Lloyd will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Poppy Mountain on U.S. 60 East with the Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
