Lloyd Avis Reynolds, age 84, of Goodan Creek, Olive Hill, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born July 23, 1934, in Carter County, he was the son of the late Herbert Edmond and Mary Ann Lowe Reynolds. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Jordan; four sisters, Anna Mae Raynolds, Elizabeth Reynolds, Clova Purnell and Opal Goodan; five brothers, Earl, Owen, Jettie, Burlis and Ray Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Hale and husband James of Elliottville; two sons, Michael Reynolds and wife Sharon and Gregory Reynolds and wife Janena, all of Olive Hill; one brother, June Reynolds of Winchester, Ohio; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lloyd retired from Carter County Board of Education and was a former employee of Olive Hill Motor Sales. He was a member of Fraley Chapel Church of God and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother John Jordan and Brother John Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery in Carter County with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Ray Reynolds, Carl Reynolds, Danny Reynolds, Earl Reynolds, Jr., Ronnie Purnell, and Curt Purnell.
