Linton Parker, age 76, of Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Born May 4, 1947, at Hayes Crossing, he was a son of the late Denver Glenmore Parker and Janice Diane May Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Puckett, Joseph Parker, Sr., and Jeffery Parker.

Linton is survived by two daughters, Angela Diana Humphries (Darren) of Morehead and Elizabeth Marie Rudisell (Brandon) of Versailles; one son, Bradley Luke Adkins of West Liberty; six grandchildren, Chloe, Aeryn, Gabe, Tate, Parker, and Charlotte; and his faithful canine companion, Angel.

He is also survived by four brothers, Harvey Puckett (Shirley) of Greenwich, Ohio, Hershel David Puckett of Union City, Indiana, Glen Tee Parker, Sr., and Clifton Parker (Sandy), all of Morehead; two sisters, Deborah Kay Fannin (John) and Linda Sue Hamm (Rob), all of Morehead; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other loving relatives and long-time friends, like Sandy Boggs and Buford and Kathy Owens.

Linton had a God-given musical gift. Near the end of his life, he reflected that, "Music is my happy place." From an early age, he taught himself to play the guitar and several other instruments. As a young man, he joined his first band and played with several others across his life such as Gene Jack Hall and the Country Dreamers, the Bluegrass Mountain Boys, Delbert Pierce and the Kentucky Rebels, and Steel Rails.

Linton was a graduate of Rowan County Senior High School, class of 1965 and had a tremendous mechanical mind. He put his ability to fix almost anything to good use as a GMC-certified Service Tech for Larry Fannin Chevrolet for more than 33 years until he opened his own business, Parker Auto Air & Brakes in Flemingsburg. He also worked at Curt Hutchinson Auto Fair. He often recounted the numerous older model cars he had owned or driven and, later in life, enjoyed many hours riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle around Kentucky.

Throughout his life, Linton had several hobbies including fishing, poker, playing music with his brothers, jewelry making, and volunteering at the senior center. His identity was firmly rooted in his Native heritage and spiritual beliefs. He loved God, "real" country music, and U.K. basketball.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery on Little Perry Road, Morehead.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Rudisell, Darren Humphries, Clifton Parker, Gabe Humphries, Tate Humphries, Joshua Parker, Rob Hamm, John Fannin, Victor Valentin, and Tyler Lanham. Honorary pallbearer is Hershel "Tony" Puckett.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
