Linda Lou Stephens Stamper

Linda Lou Stephens Stamper, age 76, of Stamper Ridge, in Elliott County, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Linda was born December 17, 1947, in Miami, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ballard Stephens and Bonnie Marie Mumford Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Stephens, and two brothers-in-law, John Drake and Gerald Whitt .

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John Estill Stamper, whom she married April 26, 1969; one daughter, Carolyn Michelle Stamper Serauskas and husband Chuck of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; grandson, Charlie Serauskas and wife Liz; and great granddaughter, Lilly Serauskas, all of Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Others to cherish her memory include two sisters, Carolyn Drake of Lawrenceburg and Brenda Whitt of Sandy Hook; extended family members and many friends.

Linda retired from Morehead State University after 22 years of dedicated service as a custodian. Known as a hard worker, Linda enjoyed helping her husband cut firewood and working along side him in the cranberry marshes when they lived in Wisconsin.

She loved reading, fishing, going to dirt track races, and spending time with friends and family. She had a great sense of humor and a way of making people around her smile.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, hard work, laughter and love for her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

Linda was saved and of the Christian faith. She is now at peace in heaven.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in Stamper Cemtery on Stamper Ridge.

Pallbearers: Charlie Serauskas, Jerry Michael Stamper, Tony Stamper, Buddy Allen Pennington, Mark Stamper, Blake Pennington, and McKade Pennington.

Honorary pallbearers: Ancil Stamper, Richard Stamper, and Jerry Stamper.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
