Linda Lou Wells Black, age 78, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 29, 1948, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Paul M. Wells and Clara “Faye” Adkins Wells Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bronson Rae Black, on December 4, 2024; one daughter, Tara Rae Black; three sisters, Carol Sue Adams, Paulette Haney, and Diane Tackett; and two infant brothers, John Wells and David Wells.
Linda is survived by two sons, Michael Ramey and Kathy of Morehead and Paul Ramey and wife Angie of Olive Hill; one stepdaughter, Shari Black Hamilton and husband Leon of Morehead; one brother, Doug Wells of Morehead; one sister, Janie Estep and husband Jerry of Morehead; three grandchildren, Laken Cornett and husband Jordan, Chase Ramey, and Gregory Porter and wife Heather; two great granddaughters, Adley Cornett and Ava Porter; three great-grandsons, Brody Cornett, Cooper Cornett, and Eian Porter, as well as several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured the time she spent with her family. In addition to being a conscientious homemaker, she enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Linda attended the Soldier Church of God and Dry Branch Church of God.
The family extends a special thank you to UK-St. Claire Hospice, Linda’s caregivers, and Collean Rayburn for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided. Their support meant so much to Linda and her family during this time.
Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating. Burial will follow in Waddell-Gilliam Cemetery, Proctor Road, Olive Hill.
Pallbearers: Paul Ramey, Mike Ramey, Chase Ramey, Jordan Cornett, Gene McCarty, Cody Hafer.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
