Obituary

Linda Gregory Johnson, age 91, of Highway 519, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 3, 1917, in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the late John W. and Mary Ellen Blankenship Gregory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sons, Glendon Ray Johnson, Kenneth Clay Johnson, Ronald Lee Johnson, Douglas Dean Johnson, Gary Ivo Johnson, and Michael Anthony Johnson. Her husband, Joe Dickie Johnson, passed away January 31, 1973. Mrs. Johnson is survived by three sons, Rex Johnson and wife Helen of Winchester, Kentucky, Raymond Johnson and wife Jan of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Ernie Johnson and wife Barb of Clearfield, Kentucky, and one daughter, Carolyn Brown and husband Paul of Morehead, Kentucky. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Sandy Johnson, Victoria Walker, Ellie Melon, Johnny Johnson, Deana Wall, Jeffery Eldridge, Nathan Eldridge, Christy May, and April Perkins; ten great grandchildren; and four daughters-in-law, Virgie Buckley, Patricia Johnson, Jeanie Johnson, and Joy Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and for many years was an active member of the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her children. She was best known as Mammy or Aunt Boots to many people. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in the Ditney Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Stafford, Johnny Johnson, Shane Wall, Justin Perkins, Jeff Weaver, Paul Brown, and Rob Kelsey. Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Saturday, December 13, 2008, 5 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, December 14, 2008, 2 p.m. Interment: Ditney Ridge Cemetery
