Linda Lorene Ball Stacy, age 90, of Stacy Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born September 18, 1928, in Rowan County, and was the daughter of the late William Green Ball and Mary Margaret Helterbrand Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilda Faye Staggs Darby; four brothers, Dee Ball, Arlie Gilkison, Mitchell Helterbrand, and William Leslie Ball; one sister, Mamie Newsome; two great grandchildren, Ryan Neal Lambert and Kathy Jane Carter; and three sons-in-law, John Hamilton, James Thompson, and Charles Plank. Her husband of 48 years, Cecil Stacy, whom she married November 9, 1946, also preceded her in death on April 11, 1995. Mrs. Stacy is survived by one son, Charles Stacy (Maxine) of Flemingsburg; six daughters, Judy Thompson, Rita Plank, Kathy Hamilton, Leila Brooks (Ronnie), Rhonda Hall (Delmer), and Tammy Stacy, all of Morehead; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include one sister, Katie Plank of Morehead; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family members. Mrs. Stacy was a homemaker and retired from Cowden Manufacturing Company after 21 years of service. She enjoyed quilting, working in her flowers, gardening, taking care of others, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dale Richmond, the Rev. Greg Bowman, and Mike Nickell officiating. Burial will follow in Adams - Plank Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
