Obituary

Lillie Trent Adkins, age 91, of Kegley Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Community Hospice Care in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born July 9, 1919, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Eliex and Gracie Sloan Trent. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clint and Clell Trent, and six sisters, Essie Kidd, Linnie Reynolds, Vernie Kegley, Betty Kegley, and twins, Ina Woodrow and Ines Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Adkins, on February 21, 1974, and one son, Homer Ray -Kenny- Adkins, on August 15, 1996. Lillie is survived by seven sons: Coy (Phyllis Jean) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Troy (Verleen) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Charles Edward (Madeline) Adkins of Elliott County, Kentucky, Leroy (Joann) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Delmer (Rose) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Jackie Adkins of Springfield, Ohio, and Everett Adkins of Cleveland, Tennessee; three daughters: Alta (Ronnie) Franks of Morehead, Kentucky, Bonnie (George) Boggs of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Mary Jo (Glenn) Mabry of Dayton, Ohio; 35 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Arnold Trent, of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Bessie Hamm and Dina Stegall, both of Morehead, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker who loved her flowers and enjoyed gardening, quilting, and canning. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery on Kegley Ridge. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Tuesday, February 8, 2011, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment: Adkins Cemetery
