Levon "Von" Manning

Levon “Von” Manning, age 83, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 17, 1943, in Sciotoville, Ohio, and raised in Kentucky, he was a son of the late Earnest Clinton and Virgie Lambert Manning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest Clinton Manning Jr., Hollie D. Manning, John Paul Manning, and Kenneth Ray Manning; and three sisters, Joyce Turvy, Ruth Caudill, and Shelby Manning.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna Manning; a daughter, Lorie Lepper and husband Scott; two grandchildren, Shane Manning and wife Czarina and Steven Bloodworth and wife Robyn; and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Alex, all of Michigan.

Other survivors include a sister, Nona Bartell of Reeds Spring, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; extended family; and friends.

Von retired from General Motors in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after 30 years of dedicated service as a hylo driver. He loved driving a sports stock race car in Toledo, Ohio, and Flatrock, Michigan. Von also enjoyed riding four-wheelers, boating, skiing, and playing cornhole. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Hall and Nephew David Manning officiating.

Burial will follow in Ditney Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Kirk Wilburn, Jim Smith, Randy Kissick, Jeff Kissick, Brandon Kissick, and Wes Black.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Saving the Animals of Rowan (STAR), P O Box 454, Morehead, KY 40351.
