Obituary

Lester Lee Lewis, 89, of Ringos Mill Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born October 30, 1921, at Waltz, Kentucky, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Richard Thomas and Beulah Blankenship Lewis. On December 16, 1946, Lester was united in marriage to Mary Phoebe Adkins Lewis, who passed away February 12, 1998. A granddaughter, Emily Beth Lewis, also preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Donnie (Leila) Lewis of Hillsboro, Kentucky; three daughters, Darlene Lewis (Ronnie) Brooks of Morehead, Kentucky, Karen Lewis Stone (wife of the late David Stone) of Ewing, Kentucky, and Sherry Lee (Danny) Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Chance Pennington, Dana Lewis, Daphne Rae Stone, Ladonna Lewis, and Brandi Lewis Mr. Lewis served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946, retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation, was a former magistrate, and a retired farmer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: James Smoot, Sammy Lewis, Jack Vise, Bud Cox, Bernard Stone, Danny Thompson, Kenny Vise, Richard Adkins, Johnny Royse, and Roland Rollings. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, June 6, 2011, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
