Leora Hall Hood, age 92, of Hood Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at her home. She was born December 25, 1919, in Morgan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late David Frank and Mary Ellen Elam Hall. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hood; one son, Russell Hood; and two brothers, Omer Hall and Vernon Hall. Mrs. Hood is survived by two sons, Oscar Hood and wife Shirley of Morehead, Kentucky, and Doug Hood and wife Marsha of Winchester, Kentucky; one daughter, Susan Black and husband Wilbert Jr., of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Mary Hood of Morehead, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Shelia Halversen, Tim Hood, Brian Hood, Nathan Hood, and Josh Hood; and two great grandchildren; Breenan Caraway and Bill Caraway II. She also leaves behind two special caregivers, Gina Combs and Geneva Krowe. Mrs. Hood retired from Morehead State University after spending 20 years in food service at Alumni Tower and ADUC Cafeteria. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, canning and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brian Hood, Nathan Hood, Josh Hood, Bobby Perry, Mark Lewis, and Todd Pratt. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
