Leona Marie Stafford Fuoss, age 87, of Water Avenue, Morehead, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born January 8, 1927, in Elliott County, she was a daughter of the late John Will and Julie Conn Stafford. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two siblings, Jesse Junior and Evelyn. Her husband, Raymond (Ray) Fuoss, passed away September 30, 1998. Marie is survived by one son, Stephen R. Fuoss and wife Teresa; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Fuoss, Rebecca Fuoss Baxter and husband Joe, Brian Fuoss and wife Ashley; a sister, Opal Flannery of Morehead; special friend, Roger Young of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews. Marie was a homemaker and retired from Morehead State University after serving as a cook in ADUC for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brad Bennington officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
