Obituary

Lee Slone, age 80, of Haldeman Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born March 17, 1932, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Britton (Britt) Slone and Rachel Fultz Slone. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Goldena Jones Slone on February 12, 1992; a son, Terry Lee Slone; an infant daughter, Edna Faye Slone; three brothers, Dewey, Jack and John Henry Slone; and two sisters, Lola Slone Tracy and Dovie Elam. Lee is survived by his wife, Lillian Sparks Thomas Slone, whom he married October 21, 2002; one son, Doug Slone of Knox, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Myra Kay (Ken) Day of Lexington, Kentucky; Kathy (Larry R.) Knipp of Morehead, Kentucky; one stepson, Michael Thomas of Morehead, Kentucky; one grandson and three granddaughters of Knox, Indiana; and five step grandchildren. Other survivors include one sister, Mary Dillon of Clearfield, Kentucky; one brother, Orville Slone of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Lee who was in the lumber business and home building most of his adult life also developed Slone Estates in Clearfield. He was a member of the Haldeman Church of God and truly loved his Lord, his family, his friends. He will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers and Brother Roy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery. Pallbearers: Joe Sloan, Terry Lee Slone, Adam Knipp, Ivan Click, Mike Dillon, Kenny Dillon, Roy Lands, and Ken Day. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Hamilton Cemetery
