Lee Roy Morehouse, 84, of Union Township, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Otterbein of Loveland. He was born May 26, 1932 in Morehead, son of the late Clifton and Lizzie DeBord Morehouse. He was the widower of the late Doris Sammons Morehouse who he was married to for nearly 53 years. Lee Roy retired from General Motors Norwood after 33 years. He enjoyed his family, farming and social events. The family is grateful for the loving care he received from Otterbein Skilled Nursing Home and Otterbein Hospice. He is survived by his son, Mark Morehouse; daughters, Denise Nichols and Jennifer (Ron) Freeman; grandsons, Zachary Breedlove, Dallas Morehouse and Brandon Beck; great-grandson, Jude Breedlove; sisters, Stella Markwell, Alma Dailey and his long-time best buddy, Lonnie Dickerson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Morehouse and Dorothy Pearl Jones. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St. (SR 125), Amelia, OH. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, at the funeral Home. Interment will follow at Batavia-Union Cemetery, Batavia, OH.
