Leah Armitage Ramey, age 85, formerly of Pleasant Valley, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, at the Life Care Center of Morehead. She was born February 13, 1924, in Menifee County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Carl and Ocie Spencer Armitage. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Craig Baldridge; three brothers, Woodford, Donald and Stanley Armitage; and one sister, Maxine Byrd. She is survived by her husband, Hobert Ramey, whom she married November 8, 1945; three daughters: Karen Collins, Rosemary Jones, Erna Gay Wells and husband Bob; and one son: Gilbert Ramey, all of Morehead. Kentucky; five grandchildren: Michael and Paul Ramey, Kimberly Collins, Karla Lambert and Kari Mauk; and five great grandchildren: Laken and Chase Ramey, Karli Baldridge, Kevin and Trinity Lambert. Also surviving are one sister, Roma Crouch of Clearfield, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ramey was a homemaker, mother, and former employee of Cowden-s Mfg., where she worked for 17 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher, Bro. Brad Bennington, and Bro. Kenny Fouch officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
