Laxie Pearl Ramey Blankenship, age 67, of Pretty Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Hilltop Nursing and Rehab in Owingsville, Kentucky. She was born September 18, 1943, at Bangor in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Vernon and Estella Foster Ramey. She is survived by the father of her children, Luther Blankenship of Farmers, Kentucky; one son, Marty Blankenship of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters, Teresa Blankenship of Farmers, Kentucky, and Susie -Susan- Jones and husband Donnie of Morgan County, Kentucky; four brothers, Ernest Ramey and wife Hazel of Amherst, Ohio, Orbie Ramey and wife Shirley of Morehead, Kentucky, Otis Ramey and wife Cathy of Lorain, Ohio, Paul Ramey and wife Mary of Louisville, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Laxie was a homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her year round yard sales to support natural disaster victims. She was a devoted member of Charity Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dusty Wallace, Donnie Jones, Daniel Wallace, Eric Ramey, Randy Smith and Phillip Roe.
