Lawrence Watson, age 90, of Heritage Place, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He was a born April 20, 1921, in Morgan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Ottis and Lissie Ison Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Wilson Watson, who passed away April 27, 1990. Mr. Watson is survived by three sons, Wendell Lee Watson and wife Sharon of Florence, Kentucky, J. R. Watson and wife Linda of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jack Blevins of Morehead, Kentucky; three daughters, Julia Frances Gehring of Dayton, Ohio, Lillian Winkleman and husband Claude of Trenton, Michigan, and Betty Jacobs of Morehead, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Paul Watson of Taylorsville, Kentucky; four sisters, Pearl Ferzell of Dayton, Ohio, Helen Eldridge of Morehead, Kentucky, Luna Levetsky of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Adamson of West Union, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Watson was U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver and mechanic. He was a member of Morehead First Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky, with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Members of Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 will also serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
