Larry David Waddell, age 68, of Soldier, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born November 12, 1946, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Chester Sterl Waddell and Mary Josephine Edmonds Waddell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Ottis Waddell. His wife of 25 years, Wanda Sue Sloan Waddell, passed away April 16, 1996. Larry is survived by two sons, David Wade Waddell and wife Tina and Joshua James Waddell, all of Olive Hill, and one grandson, David Wade Waddell, Jr. He is also survived by three brothers, Roger Waddell, Lee Waddell, and Johnie Waddell, all of Morehead; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Larry served in the U.S. Army and retired from Sealmaster. He loved spending time with family and especially his grandson, whom he adored. Larry was of the Christian faith. Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in Trent Cemetery, Rainbow Road, Morehead, with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Larry's three brothers and Shannon Sloan, Steven Conn, Freddie Conn, and Daniel Waddell.
