Obituary

Larry Scott "Scotty" Whitt, age 72, of West Liberty, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was born June 16, 1952, in Morgan County, and was the son of the late Bernard M. Whitt and Alberta Law Whitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Jean Whitt.

Scotty is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Castle Whitt, whom he wed January 25, 1974; one son, Derrick Scott Whitt of West Liberty; two grandchildren, Shelby Leigh Utterback and husband Willard and Marcedes Grace Whitt; an expected great grandchild Baby Utterback; and his beloved Yorkie, Rocky.

Other survivors include one brother, Danny Ray Whitt and wife Joyce; one sister, Linda Carol O'Neal and husband Lonnie, both of West Liberty; several nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Scotty was the owner and operator of Silverado Trucking Company in West Liberty.  Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eddie Dennison officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
