Larry Ray 'Moe' Thomas, Sr., age 68, of East Highway 60, Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born April 14, 1944, in Suddith, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Samuel and Drucella Back Thomas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon Thomas. Larry is survived by his wife, Norma Clement Thomas, whom he married August 4, 1965; one son, Larry Thomas and wife Terri of Clearfield, Kentucky; one daughter, Rhonda Butcher and husband Ronnie of Owingsville, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Lauren Alexandra Thomas, Joshua Aaron Butcher, and Alyssa Paige Thomas. Other survivors include three brothers, Glen Thomas and Dennis Thomas of Owingsville, Kentucky, Jerry Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky; three sisters, Marcella Bowling and Janice Hensley of Owingsville, Kentucky, Loma Copher of Salt Lick, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was a retired carpenter and member of the First Church of God. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Morehead First Church of God with Pastor Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery at Midland, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Scotty Wilhoite, Mike Highley, Jody Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Robert Copher, Josh Butcher, Tim Copher, Shane Copher, and Greg Copher.
