Obituary

Larry Rayburn Blevins, age 60, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011, at his home. Born September 9, 1950, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he is the son of Martha Sparks Blevins of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late James Albert Blevins, Sr., who passed away in 1994. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Albert Blevins, Jr., and Ronald Edwin Blevins, and one niece, Tammy R. Blevins. Besides his mother, Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia Cooley Blevins, whom he wed June 11, 1971; six children, Joseph, J.R. and wife Diane, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Justin Blevins, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jessica Fugate and husband Denny of Lee-s Summit, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Darian Blevins of Lee-s Summit, Missouri, Damien Blevins and Donavon Blevins, both of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include two sisters, Barbara J. Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, and Rebecca L. Cooley of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one brother, Windell A. Blevins of Morehead, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Larry was employed by Rowan County Board of Education as a bus driver for 11 years and was a former employee of Heiner-s Bread Company and Caudill Tire in Morehead. He was saved and baptized at Family Worship Center in Lakeland, Florida. Larry loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Visitation: Wednesday, August 17, 2011, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 7 p.m.
