Lacynda Carol "Cyndi" Johnson Thompson, age 47, of Spring Street North, Morehead, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, U.K. Medical Center in Lexington after an extended illness.

She was born June 6, 1977, in Lexington, and is the daughter of James Douglas Johnson of Georgetown, Pennsylvania, and the late Millicent Chapman Johnson. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Kilgore.

In addition to her father, Cyndi is survived by her husband, Larry Shane Thompson; a daughter, Kinsey Shaye Crouch (Braxton Evans); a son, Kolin Douglas Johnson, all of Morehead; and two special grandchildren, Baylen and Everly.

Also surviving are two brothers, James Douglas Johnson and Richard Dale Johnson, both of Morehead; one sister, Summer Renee Johnson of Georgetown, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Cyndi earned an Accounting Degree from Morehead State University and was a self-employed CPA. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her grandchildren. Cyndi will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ben Hargis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351, to assist with funeral expense.
