Kimberly Robin
(Collins) Staton
Jul 11, 1967 — Jul 13, 2025
Kimberly Robin Collins Staton, age 58, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Born on July 11, 1967, in Morehead, she is the daughter of Bradley Collins of Morehead and the late Connie Jo Rzonca. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bradley Collins Jr.
In addition to her father, Kimberly is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Audrey Staton Jr.; their cherished daughter, Danielle Staton; and two brothers, Todd Collins and Shawn Collins (Kim), all of Morehead. She also leaves behind two beloved friends and caregivers, Linda Smith of Morehead and Lynn Eldridge of Salt Lick, along with countless family members, friends, and former students who will miss her deeply.
A lifelong resident of Morehead, Kimberly graduated from Rowan County Senior High School in 1986. From a young age, she had a gift for nurturing children. What began with babysitting soon grew into a lifelong vocation. She worked at Children's Corner Daycare before joining Rowan County Christian Academy as a kindergarten teacher's aide. When RCCA transitioned to Lakeside Christian Academy, Kimberly continued her role, ultimately dedicating more than 30 years to shaping young lives. Her students were never just names in a classroom—they were part of her heart, and she loved watching them grow and succeed.
On October 14, 1988, Kimberly married the love of her life, Audrey, and for nearly four decades they were inseparable. Whether at work, home, or church, they tackled everything side by side. Their daughter, Danielle, born May 24, 1998, was Kimberly's greatest joy. She treasured every moment with her family and never missed an opportunity to remind them how much they were loved.
Kimberly's faith was the cornerstone of her life. A dedicated member of Morehead Community Fellowship Church, she found strength and joy in her church family. She also loved to read, watch Dateline with Danielle, and share laughs and stories with her closest friends. Her life was a testament to kindness, faith, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved most.
