Obituary

Kevin Spencer, age 58, of Smith Pike, Flemingsburg, passed away at Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg after a sudden illness on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Born October 19, 1957, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ellen Burton Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Kevin Spencer, on October 19, 2009, and father-in-law, Herman Perkins. Kevin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marilyn Perkins Spencer, whom he married June 4, 1976; one daughter, Leslie Spencer Jackson and husband John of Maysville; and two grandsons, Hayden and Reid Jackson. Also surviving are four brothers, Ronnie (Connie) Reeder, Jimmy (Sue) Bradley, and Danny (Judy) Bradley, all of Flemingsburg and Bill (Nola) Reeder of Maysville; two sisters, Jean (Tom) Hamm and Teresa Mae Ooten, all of Flemingsburg; mother-in-law, Luwanna Story Perkins of Flemingsburg; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Kevin was a 1975 graduate of Fleming County High School and a 2015 graduate of Maysville Community College. He was an employee at Big Blue Outdoors in Flemingsburg and a former machinist at Browning Manufacturing after 32 years, where he was fondly known as 'Hog Head.' He enjoyed camping, boating, riding ATV's and motorcycles and attended the Tilton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Tilton United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Sloan and Pastor Gail Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers: Darrin Royse, Brent Rose, David Hamilton, David Tackett, Donnie Ishmael, Bill Sauer, and Jay Sexton. Honorary pallbearers: Charles Glascock, J E Smith, Brownie Emmons, Albert Crump, and Victor Perkins. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Tilton United Methodist Church, Old Highway 11, Flemingsburg. Visitation: Friday, April 1, 2016, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tilton United Methodist Church Funeral: Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Tilton United Methodist Church Interment: Hillsboro Cemetery
