Kevin Dewayne Carnell, age 35, of Fogg Pike, Mt. Sterling, formerly of Carter County, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling after a sudden illness with cancer. He was born November 5, 1978, in Rowan County, the son of Junior and Anna Maddox Carnell of Olive Hill. In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his wife, Diana Francis Carnell; a stepson, Jarrod Brown and wife Ashton of Nashville, Tennessee; special friends, Dennis Staton of Winchester and Steve Abbott of Mt. Sterling; several aunts and uncles; and other relatives and friends. Kevin was the owner of K & M Auto Mart in Mt. Sterling and a 1997 graduate of West Carter High School. Kevin had a love for cars, especially Mustangs, and enjoyed spending time at his car lot. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Rivers and Bro. Tim Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Catron Cemetery in Carter County. Pallbearers will be Dennis Staton, Steve Abbott, Tony Francis, Dylan Francis, Jarrod Brown, and Doug Fletcher.
