Kenneth Virgil Sergent, age 85, formerly of Heritage Place, Morehead, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. He was born May 13, 1931, in Morgan County, a son of the late McKinley and Effie Lewis Sergent. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Sergent; three sisters, Opal Gibson, Kathleen Jefferson, and Zelda Gregory; three brothers, Lorice, Chalmer, and Adrian Sergent. Virgil, as he was called by family, is survived by two sisters, Janice Jones of Morehead and Freeda Martin of Dayton, Ohio; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed Bluegrass music, attending activities at the Life Care Center, and visiting with friends and family. Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Blair Cemetery in Blairs Mill. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements.
