Kenneth E. Kreitzer, Sr., age 80, of Clearfork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born December 16, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio, son of Jess Daniel and Miranda Underbrink Kreitzer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Erma Julia Kreitzer. Kenneth-s wife of 64 years, Erie Mildred (Millie) Richards Kreitzer, whom he wed March 26, 1946, passed away April 25, 2010. He is survived by three sons, Kenneth E. Kreitzer, Jr., of Juneau, Alaska, Jess Daniel Kreitzer of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Blake Richards Kreitzer of Tracy, California; six daughters, Sharon Kreitzer of Morehead, Kentucky, Esther Stafford of Huber Heights, Ohio, Alice Freeman of Beavercreek, Ohio, Teresa Kreitzer of Dayton, Ohio, Miranda Stone of Lexington, Kentucky, and Julie Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers, Tom Kreitzer of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joe Kreitzer of Silver Springs, New Mexico; one sister, Elaine Kreitzer Wooley of Baldwinsville, New York; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Kreitzer retired from the Dayton Police Department following 28 years of service as a police officer and detective. He was a member of Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Prabell officiating. Burial will be in the Kreitzer Cemetery on Clearfork Road in Morehead. The pallbearers will be Blake Kreitzer, Ken Kreitzer, Jess Kreitzer, Adam Kreitzer, David Stafford and Dick Freeman. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
