Kenneth Paul 'Kenny' Sloan, age 81, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Carter Nursing and Rehab Center in Grayson. Born June 15, 1935, at Elliottville in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Melvin and Ellen Trent Sloan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Fonza, Lonnie, and Harold Sloan, and five sisters, Audrey Pennington, Ivory Crose, Eula Conley, Stella Fraley, and Ilene DeHart. Kenny is survived by three sisters, Guyan Mabry, Louise Adkins, and Maxine DeHart, all of Morehead; two brothers, Dennis Sloan of Grayson and Richard Sloan of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Kenny had been a logger and former employee of Ken-Mor Stone. He was of the Church of God faith. Private graveside services for the family will be held at Trent Cemetery on Rainbow Road.
