Kenneth D. -Kenbo- Black, age 48, of Old Midland Trail, Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at his residence. He was born September 13, 1962, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, son of the late Wilbert and Missouri Combs Black. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Black in 1991, and one sister, Helen Whitt, in 2008. Kenbo is survived by four brothers, Palmer Black of Knox, Indiana, and Wilbert -Bugs- Black, Gus Black, and Dennis Black, all of Morehead, Kentucky; three sisters, Vivian Spurlock of Goshen, Indiana, Joan Fouch of Morehead, Kentucky, and Bonnie Jones of Salt Lick, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews; other family and friends. Kenbo was a former ironworker and carpenter. He enjoyed all types of music and played the bass with his family group, -The Voice of Praise.- Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Saturday, February 5, 2011, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
