Kendell Lamont Taul, age 49, of Mt. Sterling was born September 13, 1973, in Mt. Sterling and departed this life July 15, 2023, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
He graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1992 where he participated in various activities and was a member of the football team. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in 1998. He was a former employee of International Paper in Lexington and was an avid craftsman specializing in custom woodworking. A passionate basketball and football fan, the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes were two of his favorite teams.
Kendell accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of High Street Christian Church in Mt. Sterling.
Kendell leaves to cherish his memory his father, Lawrence Edward Hines; his devoted wife, Brandi Edwards Taul; four children, Trevon Garrett, Alexandria Hudson, Alyssa Taul, and Devin Taul; one granddaughter: Adryne Ali; two brothers: Anthony Taul and Darrin Taul; brother-in-law: Minister Ricky Walker; and cousins Michael Taul and Jaye T. Taul. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles Shirley (Wendall) Jones, Oliver Dee Taul, Mary Hill, Elizabeth Jean Hines and Charles (Yvonne) Hines; nieces and nephews; many cousins; and special friends including Pastor Stephen Donithan, Darren Wyche, Gary Conner, Ronnie Overstreet, and Kenneth Walker. Kendell loved all his family and valued the precious time they shared through the years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Jean Taul; a sister, Yolanda Walker; a brother, James Taul; and a cousin, Sylvester Lee Groves.
A celebration of life will be held on July 29, 2023, at High Street Christian Church, 401 East High Street, Mt. Sterling, 40353. Visitation with family will start at 11 a.m. and the service will begin at 12 p.m.
