Kathy Lynn McFadden Yates, age 60, of Christian Street, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born July 31, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William McFadden and Hazel Lovins McFadden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Hudson Poe.
Kathy is survived by her husband, John Yates; her daughter, Brittany Poe and her husband, Joshua, of Morehead; her brother, Joey McFadden of Lexington; three special grandchildren, Levi Sivils, Noah Poe, and Willow Poe; and a niece, Ariane Wells.
She was a dedicated employee of McDonald's on Richmond Road in Lexington for more than 30 years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature. She was a graduate of Bryan Station High School.
Kathy loved listening to music and always looked forward to summertime, especially going to the beach. She enjoyed the outdoors and cherished spending time with her daughter and, most of all, her grandchildren. She was an amazing mother with a kind soul and a giving heart, always putting others before herself.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Celebration of Life will be conducted 4 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Lietz officiating.
Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
