Karon Kay Bauer McBrayer, age 73, of Triplett View, Morehead, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at St. Joseph East in Lexington. She was born February 2, 1943, in Alliance, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Edmond and Paula Nagel Bauer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Sharon Kay McBrayer Charles, Teresa Kim McBrayer, and Patricia Lynn 'Patty' McBrayer, and one brother, Doug Bauer. She is survived by one son, Mark McBrayer of Morehead; four grandchildren, Rebecca Charles, Jessica Charles, Mark Anthony McBrayer, and Robert Collins; four great grandchildren, Cash Smith, Bentley Smith, Caleb Sholars, and Kylie Sholars; one sister, Charlotte Tucker of Seattle Washington; and extended family and friends. Karon was a former secretary/bookkeeper for a construction company in Pennsylvania and a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing in Morehead. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Visitation is 10 a.m. until noon Monday, April 11, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with a graveside service immediately following at the McBrayer Cemetery. Pastor Thad Callahan will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
