Karen Lee Sprague Jillson, age 74, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her residence.

She was born February 28, 1949, in Plainville, Massachusetts, and was the daughter of the late Stillman Madore Sprague and Marilyn Ann Proal Sprague. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Karol Sprague Lunn, and one brother, Stillman Sprague.

Karen is survived by three children, Michelle Vega and husband Jacinto of Morehead, Renee' Bettencourt of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and Rachel Bettencourt of Johnston, Rhode Island; one sister, Candace Barker of North Carolina; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two special mini-Dachshunds, Angel and Joy Joy; and other extended family and friends.

While living in Massachusetts, Karen was a paralegal and a beautician. She was an animal lover and enjoyed photography and playing the guitar. She was a very strong woman who loved her family and friends dearly. Karen was a giving person with a big heart.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

At Karen's request, there will be no services held.
