June Ball Hook, age 88, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at her home.

Born January 25, 1936, in Morgan County, Kentucky, at Elk Fork, June was a daughter of the late Thurman and Marie Smith Ball. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Ball and Gail Keeton.

On August 8, 1953, June was united in marriage to Hayward Hook, who passed away January 22, 2009, and their daughter, Stephanie Hook, also preceded her parents in death in 1955.

June is survived by two sons, David Hook and Daniel Hook and his wife Jenny, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and four grandchildren, Haydan, Rylee, Sophia, and Gavin Hook.

Others to cherish her memory include two brothers, Roger Ball of West Liberty, Kentucky,  and Woodrow Ball of Ezel, Kentucky; one sister, Angie Endicott of Fremont, Ohio; as well as special nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

June was the owner of Captain Hook's Boat Storage and Campground in the Cave Run Lake area.  She was a "people person" with a servant's heart and derived great joy from helping others.  Working with her customers through the years, she developed many long-lasting friendships.   Anyone connected with Cave Run Lake knew and appreciated June.  She was also well known for taking care of New Alfrey Cemetery and going "above and beyond" to assist families. June enjoyed going to Church and was a member of End Time Harvest Tabernacle.  She also greatly enjoyed taking care of her family--especially the grandchildren, whom she adored.  Her legacy will shine brightly in those left behind.  She will be lovingly remembered always.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wade Muncy and Pastor Tracy and Libby Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Daniel Hook, David Hook, Woodrow Ball, Jeff Cogswell, Sam Lemay, Haydan Hook, Daniel Barker, and Dwayne Brewer.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Gavin Hook, Sophia Hook, and Rylee Hook.

Visitation for June Hook will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
