Judy Eldridge, age 72, of Ringos Mills Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at her residence. Born July 1, 1944, in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Laton Smoot and Flora Edith McLain Maxey Smoot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Hinton 'Hint' Maxey, Henry Laton 'Dude' Maxey, and Kenneth 'Wayne' Maxey, and three sisters, Opal Maxey, Frankie Maxey, and Wilma 'Sis' Rhoton. Judy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Don Eldridge, whom she married June 23, 1967; one son, Darrin Eldridge and wife Lesia of Hillsboro; extended family and many friends. Judy retired from the Fleming County Board of Education after 30 years of service as secretary and teacher's aide. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, walking, and spending time and dining out with her friends. Judy was a member of the Ringos Mills Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at Hutton Funeral Home with Dr. David Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Smoot, Joe Smoot, Joseph Smoot, Colby McCloud, Brad Eldridge, and J. T. Rawlings. Honorary pallbearers will be Rod Smoot and Jason Robertson. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
